This has always been a difficulty in our industry due to the bulky nature of our products it just isn’t fiesable to be sending heavy goods vehicles off on random routes every day especially with smaller orders, the only real way of operating this way is by either having a minimum order value for example £200 which eliminates the smaller orders or forces people to overpay or the most common way is to send the goods on the national pallet delivery companies, the issue with this is that even for a local postcode delivery it will add £40 to £50 per bag of soil or pallet of turf and on top of that they are very limited with the service they can offer, they do not have a crane and can not deliver over gravel, kerbs, inclines etc
